splish splash...and that's not just the weather!

the garrett family made it through a seattle february, a little soggy but survived it nonetheless. we miss the california sunshine and look forward to seeing it soon! in the meantime, we have been enjoying family time together and watching elias grow and develop. his mobility is becoming more efficient...and quick. i will see him on the blanket one moment and then look back and he is across the room, usually right by his friend bandit :) when not with bandit, he is usually trying to find new and exciting things to get in to. it is funny, there can be the most colorful and bright toys around but he crawls passed them to the remote control or our phones or to a piece of paper. as you can see below, he had some fun with a box we had out.


he is also able to push himself into a sitting position and sit without any help from us. one time i heard him giggling and i looked in his direction to see him sitting up and pretty pleased with himself. it was the cutest thing.



as i blog this, i can't help but smile. can you believe how adorable and handsome this kid is?? it's hard to only put a fraction of the pictures i take of him in this blog :)

we have also been slowly introducing solid foods. we have learned that oatmeal does not sit well with elias...at all. so we have nixed that for now. he is not a big fan of the rice cereal but will eat it if it is mixed with something delicious like pears or apple sauce. and he likes those teething biscuits!





and we brought some of that wet weather inside for some splish splash fun!
