time flies!

We spent a wonderful day together driving to Marin county. It was really nice after such a hectic move.

First stop was in San Rafael to try out yet another Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives recommended restaurant. For those of you not familiar with DDD, it is a Food Network show with host Guy Fieri. When we go on a trip we make it a point to search for good food and we often try to find a DDD rated dig. So we found Sol Food, Puerto Rican Cuisine and it was delicious!


Bistec Sandwich with Limade along with chicken and rice, fried plantain, and amazing beans. We will be going back for sure!

After fueling our bodies with some Sol food we drove over to the San Francisco Theological Seminary where 2.5 years earlier Aaron and I were married. We have had some amazing adventures and life-changing moments since the last time we were at the seminary on that very very hot September afternoon in 2008. It was surreal to go back with our precious little boy in our arms.

Another full day of exploring and spending quality time together. I am so thankful for my family.

it's okay mommy

I have a whole lotta updating to do! I picked up a part-time job for the month of May which I will use as an excuse for my lapse in blog posts. The month of May came and went, I almost can't believe it! I worked for a company called Special Needs Nursing as a registered nurse giving medical care to children while they are at school. My good friend from nursing school gave my name to her boss who was looking for a nurse to fill in for the rest of the school year (through the end of May) and it worked out that I could give a few hours a day. It truly was a blessing for all parties involved. It allowed the company to not stress and it allowed me, baby, and grandma ease into this new schedule! To be honest, I had the harder time. The first day, I walked out of the house and started crying! But I survived and the job was extremely flexible so I was able to call often and get home early. And coming home was simply splendid because I was greeted by a big toothy grin, a wet kiss, and firm hug. I really enjoyed the work, but nothing can beat those hugs and kisses.

As for Aaron...he is such a hard worker. He has been working long days to meet deadlines. Another blessing about my flexible job was that I was able to take a 10 minute BART ride (Bay Area Rapis Transit for my non-CA peeps) and meet Aaron for his 1 hour lunch. It was a nice time to sit and relax together. He is enjoying his job, learning and getting opportunities for design. I will keep you posted on projects as they become completed.

Okay, okay, I know what you really want are baby updates :) Where do I even begin. I will let the pictures direct and break our past few weeks down into different posts. Below are pictures from Easter.


Easter brought Elias some nice surprises including bubbles and plastic eggs that my mom filled with rice so now they are shakers :) And she made him a cute blanket that I will have to share with you later once I have a picture of it.

Finn has needed to adjust to the extra bodies in the house. I think he misses having the run of the house and having grandma's attention all to himself...but his daddy is around to rough house in the back yard!

This is Aaron holding Eli and my cousin's daughter Ella. She is 11 months old here and weighed what one of Eli's thighs weighs! I picked her up and thought she might fly through the roof she was so light :)

And Elias took his first real steps on Easter day! We are sure in for it...there is no stopping this fire-cracker!
