Here is a little glimpse of what Elias does every time a song comes on...his head bobs even in the car :)

first boat ride!

We had a great weekend in Tahoe; lots of sun, water, and good food. We stayed at Edgelake right on the water and learned that Elias has the cutest personality. He likes to come up behind us while we are sitting in a chair and tickle us. He thinks it is just the funniest thing!

The weather was beautiful. Tahoe is great in the winter, but on a clear sunny day, that lake is gorgeous.

We decided that it was such a beautiful day we were going to rent a boat before we left and venture out on that water!
At first, Elias was unsure about being on a moving vessel on the water. We let him drive a bit so that he could feel more comfortable. Below pictures just how serious he was in the beginning (I think he wasn't a big fan of wearing the life vest either).

But then momma and baby went to the back of the boat where is was a smoother ride and he had a blast! He just wanted to lean over the side and feel the water spray by.

Such a fun weekend!

a little bit of seattle here in cali

The weekend of Elias' first birthday our sweet friend Alyssa from WA came into town for a couple of days. And though it was August, the city of San Francisco was pretty cold and foggy- maybe it wanted to make Alyssa feel not too far from Seattle :)

We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and made then returned back into the city to Golden Gate Park.

Cake + Birthday Fun!

We cannot believe that it has been a year already! Time seems to go faster when you kids. We had a nice birthday party for Elias with friends and family...and cake :)
Below, Elias is riding a panda rocking toy that was given to us my my dad's co-workers when Eli was born. I think the picture shows just how much he enjoys it.

Grandpa and Grandma gave Eli a really neat tricycle that he is able to ride now while we push him around the block and then later he will pedal himself around!

Here are the cakes Auntie Gabby made for the party. As mentioned before, one of Elias' favorite books is Go Dogs Go! so that was one of the decorations Gabby made...free-hand (I tell you this girl is a jack-of-all-trades type).

Here are some shots and a video of Elias enjoying his own personal Funfetti cake with whip cream frosting.

We were thankful for some presents as well.

Oh and the balloons...we love the balloons! This is the morning after the party-

fancy pants

We recently attended my cousin's wedding. I don't have many pictures because, frankly, it is hard to even remember to when you are chasing an almost 12 month old! But here are a few cute ones!

some more wild fun

Weekends are definitely the most fun because Elias loves playing with daddy! We try to do something fun when the weekend rolls around- this one weekend we another weekend full of animal adventure. We visited the Lindsay Museum, a wildlife rehab center that is home to many that have been injured and are not able to return to the wild. We saw some amazing...and large birds including a Golden Eagle and Bald Eagle!

Elias made a little friend. This little girl came and sat next to us and decided she wanted to hold Eli's hand :)

Waiting for the squirrel training session:

fairing the photo booth

We have made it an annual tradition to go to the county fair. The first year (2009) it was just Aaron and myself at the Puyallup fair up in WA state. The second year, Elias was just one month old and we saw Willie Nelson in Concert at the Puyallup fair. This past July marked the third year and we went to the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, Ca and boy did we have fun with all the animals !

Can't wait for next year!
