Annual Family Fautumn Vacation...Part 1

We have tried to make it tradition to take a nice family vacation in the Fall. This year we focused our trip on KY and TN...and even further east than that!

The first leg of our trip was to Glasgow, KY to visit family. Getting there was quite the adventure. It is amazing how much 'stuff' a little munchkin needs on a vacation away from home- with the pack-n-play, car seat, clothes, and airplane entertainment we had our hands full. Thankfully my mom assisted in our journey to the airport!

We were glad to finally arrive at our destination. After 3 layovers (none of which we were allowed to get off the plane and with only peanuts and juice provided) we arrived at Nashville International Airport. I have to say...Elias did such a fantastic job on the plane. He had a lot of fun looking out the window and smiling at the people sitting behind us. Nonetheless, we were all tired and hungry and we still needed to grab our luggage so we could get our rental car. Well, our car seat did not land with us :/ Southwest was helpful though- they loaned us a seat and gave a travel voucher for the inconvenience. And by the time we got the rental car and loaded it up, our car seat was found and we were able use it.

It was so nice to see Unkie and visit Uncle Jim. We also were able to spent some time out on the farm of Joe Mike and Kim. They gave us a great tour of their beautiful property and it was a great time. We miss them already :)

Looking at the kittens.

In awe of the huge pigs!!

And the very first picture at the start of this post is Elias petting the Saint Bernard pup...so cute!

One thing we absolutely HAD to do was eat at the Cracker Barrel and we were able to cross that off of our list thanks to Unkie :) Below are pictures in the rocking chairs in front Cracker Barrel. The first one directly below is of Aaron in September 2006 when we visited while we were dating. Below that is Elias and Aaron are seated in front of the same giant checker board- please note the huge red checker in Elias' mouth. Oh and I have to say...5 years later and my husband is still smokin' hott...if not more so now :)

The following are pictures of our time at Unkie's house and playing with JoJo (Eli's new friend). JoJo and Eli played all afternoon long they wore each other out!

Riding around the property on the golf cart.

Three handsome men :)

And Unkie and his "little buddy"

To close this first leg of our trip we wanted to include this picture...classic sight we saw as we headed out of town:
